In 2020, Ministerial Staff Received 441 Million Drams in Bonuses
In 2020, amidst the coronavirus pandemic and wartime conditions, the authorities continued the flawed practice of distributing lavish bonuses in the state apparatus and local government bodies, a practice that had been entrenched for the past 2.5 years.
In response to a written inquiry from AntiFake.am, the Prime Minister's staff reported that during 2020, employees were granted bonuses totaling 441,693,600 Armenian drams, equivalent to approximately 920,000 US dollars.
We had requested information regarding the distribution of bonuses over the year on a monthly basis to understand whether bonuses were awarded during wartime and thereafter. However, instead of being provided with the amount of bonuses allocated each month, we received the distribution of the annual bonus fund over 12 months, making it impossible to ascertain which months had bonuses and how much was allocated.
