Direct Connection Planned Between Hospitals in Armenia, Lyon, France and Artsakh
The Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan met with Gevorg (Jorge) Kepenekian, a urologist from the Merio Foundation in Lyon, France, and Kelil Aitue, responsible for the Mother and Child Health Program at the Merio Foundation. During the meeting, the parties clarified the current healthcare needs and discussed the avenues for humanitarian assistance to Artsakh, paying special attention to the provision of rehabilitation services in Artsakh, as well as the works aimed at restoring the Mother and Child Health Center in Stepanakert.
“Currently, the most crucial issue is the repatriation of Artsakh inhabitants temporarily relocated to Armenia, for which it is necessary to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the healthcare system in Artsakh. The solution to this can be the availability of renovated medical centers and equipment within them, as well as organizing training courses for healthcare workers,” said Anahit Avanesyan.
A direct connection is planned to be established between the hospitals in Armenia, the city of Lyon in France, and Artsakh, which will involve training courses for doctors and nurses, as well as the implementation of exchange programs.
