Marukyan's Latest Appeal Regarding Increase in Airfare Prices to Russia

“Today, I have submitted an appeal to the President of the Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition regarding the significant increase in the prices of airline tickets to various cities in Russia. 

Dear citizens, I would like to inform you that I have addressed Gegham Gevorgyan, the head of the RA CPEC, concerning the rising prices of airfare to Russia. It is well known that as of February 1, 2021, the borders of Russia have been opened for our citizens. However, we are receiving numerous reports and complaints from citizens that the prices of airline tickets to various Russian cities have increased significantly. This issue applies not only to Russian air carriers but also to Armenian ones.

Moreover, this is only concerning one-way ticket prices. Accordingly, I have requested the CPEC president to investigate what has caused the increase in airline ticket prices to Russia and to utilize the tools granted by law to the commission to reduce the unjustifiably increased ticket prices and impose appropriate sanctions on the violating entities.

Once I receive a response, I will also publish it on my official page,” stated Edmond Marukyan, the head of the “Enlightened Armenia” parliamentary faction, in a Facebook post.
