World-Famous Boxer Israel Hakobkoyan Released from Custody

World and European champion, and world cup winner Israel Hakobkoyan has been released from custody, with the decision on his arrest deemed unlawful. His lawyer Gor Sagoyan informed NEWS.am, adding that Hakobkoyan will soon be free.

It is noteworthy that on January 28, citizens held a protest in Republic Square demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. At the government building, where clashes occurred between police and citizens, a group attempted to enter the building. Following this incident, more than twenty citizens were detained, including Aragats Akhoyan, Arshak Zakaryan, Israel Hakobkoyan, Tigran Chobanyan, and Vahagn Chakhalyan. They were arrested and charged with attempting to seize a building.

As of now, the five detained individuals have been released.
