Missing Minor Discovered Hanging from Tree; Criminal Case Initiated

A 15-year-old boy found hanging from a tree has led to the initiation of a criminal case. This information was announced by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

"On January 29, 2021, at 21:30, a report was received regarding the disappearance of a minor born in 2005. During the preparation of materials at the Central Division of the Armenian Police, operational and search measures were undertaken, resulting in the discovery of the boy's body on January 31, 2021, under the Kyiv Bridge, hanging from a tree with a fabric rope.

An external examination of the body revealed no signs of violence, while personal belongings of the boy were found in the pockets of his pants. A decision has been made to conduct a forensic medical examination of the body.

A criminal case has been initiated in the Arabkir Administrative District Investigation Division of the Yerevan Investigation Department based on Article 110 (Driving to Suicide) of the Armenian Criminal Code, with the preliminary investigation assigned to an investigative group.

To clarify significant circumstances related to the criminal case, authorities from the relevant division of the Armenian Police have been tasked with specific assignments. An investigation is underway, and necessary investigative and procedural actions are being taken to establish all the details of the incident and ensure an objective, complete, and comprehensive examination," the report states.
