During unauthorized protests in Moscow, Yulia Navalnaya, the wife of opposition figure Alexei Navalny, has been arrested. TASS reports that police detained her during an illegal march and transferred her to the ‘Matrosskaya Tishina’ detention center, where her husband is currently held.
“Yulia Navalnaya has been arrested, and her status is still unknown as there is no communication,” her lawyer, Svetlana Davidova, said in an interview with the agency.
The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor's Office had previously called on citizens to refrain from participating in unauthorized actions. Protests are being organized by Navalny's supporters.
