No soldier has been captured on these or previous days: Artsakh Defense Army
Recently, various materials related to the army have again spread on the internet, which have no real basis, are completely fictitious, and aim to tarnish the reputation of the military institution operating in complex post-war conditions, stated the Artsakh Defense Army (ADA) in an announcement.
“In particular, various internet users are spreading information about the alleged capture of 15 Armenian soldiers, referring to certain episodes of the 44-day war and the positional changes that occurred after the war. The name of the commander of the N military unit, Colonel Gor Ishkhanyan, is also being manipulated. Considering the sensitivity of the public regarding any news related to the army, we reaffirm that no soldier of the army has been captured on these or previous days. Under the command of Colonel G. Ishkhanyan, the military unit has fulfilled the assigned tasks solely based on the orders and instructions of the higher command. During combat operations, not a single position was handed over to the enemy, and the withdrawal after the war (including from areas where command points and fortifications were located) was necessitated by the need to implement the provisions of the trilateral statement.
We urge our colleagues and fellow citizens to be a little more responsible regarding their words. The spread of such false news does not contribute to strengthening the defense capabilities of the homeland,” the ADA reported.
