2022 Economic Trends Will Depend on 2021 Performance, Prime Minister
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the government continues discussions on the macroeconomic and fiscal-budgetary framework for 2022, as well as on the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) for 2022-2024. During today's meeting, the issue of budget proposal submissions by state bodies was raised, according to the assessed framework.
The discussions covered the amounts of budget allocations, sectoral priorities, and approaches to expenditures, as well as questions related to forecasts on economic growth, investment promotion, and current and capital expenditures.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the economic situation in 2022 and the following years will depend on the quality and performance of work done in 2021 regarding tax administration, cost-effectiveness, economic development, and financial stability. According to Nikol Pashinyan, there is significant potential to ensure these components, and consistent efforts need to be made.
