Roads Blocked and Impassable in Armenia, Lars Open

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia reports that there are blocked and impassable roads within the country. The roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn province to Amberd Fortress and the K'ari Lake direction are closed.

The Vardenyats Pass is impassable for trucks with trailers. In Jermuk city, Vayots Dzor province, there are icy spots on all roads in Gegharkunik province and on the Sisian-Zanger section in Syunik province.

In Aparan city of Aragatsotn province, in the Talin region, in Jermuk city of Vayots Dzor province, and in the Saravan-Zanger section, as well as in Armavir province's Armavir and Ejmiatsin, and in Kotayk province's Yeghvard and Abovyan cities, snow is falling.

Regarding Lars, according to the information received from the Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles; approximately 420 trucks are stranded on the Russian side.

According to the information from the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the decision prohibiting the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. The ban does not apply to freight transport.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
