New Victories Are Coming, I Assure You: Surik Khachatryan

On the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the Armenian army, former governor of Syunik Surik Khachatryan wrote on his Facebook page:

“Dear compatriots, the Artsakh war obliged us to establish a structure that would carry the sacred duty of protecting a country surrounded by enemies. The supreme task of every country's armed forces is to ensure the safety of its native people, which became the basis of transforming purpose into action, and ultimately laid the foundation for the formation of the Armenian army.

Since that day, 29 years have passed, and those years have overall been years of unwavering progress. The Armenian army has taken on serious responsibilities since its formation. Our young army, which has passed through the turmoil of several wars, has always honorably fulfilled the tasks set before it. I do not wish to refer to the disgraceful capitulation of 2020, because in this war, the Armenian soldier who fights for his homeland until the end of life has already won.

Victory belongs to Jzdeh and Monte, to Adam and Robert, to Menouan and Albert.... New victories are coming, I assure you, we will raise our bowed heads, straighten our backs, and record glorious victories. On this most important day, I want to wish our people faith, unity, and strength to move forward. May the borders of our country remain unyielding, and may all of Armenia become the homeland of Armenians. We still have work to do, and new victories are still ahead.”
