Medical Assistance to Local Population Among Priorities of Russia's EMERCOM

Russian EMERCOM specialists have been providing humanitarian assistance to the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding areas since November 2020. This was announced by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a press briefing on January 28.

She clarified that among the priority directions of the agency's activities are the provision of medical assistance to the local population, demining of areas, and conducting patrols to prevent and eliminate emergencies under adverse weather conditions.

“The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations is in close contact with both the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides in collaboration with other Russian agencies, including regarding the operation of the international humanitarian response center,” Zakharova added.
