National Rally to Be Held on February 18
The Homeland Salvation Movement will hold a national rally on February 18. The organizational issues of the rally were discussed at the Homeland Salvation Movement Council meeting held on January 26, chaired by Vazgen Manukyan.
According to the movement's Facebook page, the council also discussed Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's proposal for early parliamentary elections, and at the end of the discussion, a statement was adopted expressing the council's position and approaches.
The movement reaffirms its demand for Nikol Pashinyan's resignation and the priority of forming a transitional government of national consensus. The primary tasks of the transitional government should be to stabilize the situation and address urgent internal and external issues related to humanitarian, socio-economic, and post-war circumstances faced by the country, as well as to create the necessary conditions for holding reliable and transparent parliamentary elections.
"Any attempt by the acting Prime Minister or the current authorities to conduct elections will, from the outset, call into question the legitimacy of the elections and is fraught with risks of destabilization and internal political clashes," the statement reads.
The Homeland Salvation Movement invites all political forces to reach a consensus based on the aforementioned roadmap.
