Roads Closed in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia reports that there are closed roads within the territory of Armenia.
The roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region towards the Amberd Fortress and the road leading to Kar Lake are closed. Meanwhile, the Vardenyats Pass is only closed for trucks with trailers.
Black ice is present in some areas on the Aparan-Aragats road in the Aragatsotn region, the Saravan-Zanger segment in the Vayots Dzor region, the road leading to the city of Jermuk, as well as inter-community roads in the Kotayk region and roads in the Syunik region.
According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road has been opened to all vehicles since 16:30 on January 22, although there are trucks accumulating on the Russian side.
Information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia states that the decision to prohibit the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. However, this restriction does not apply to cargo transport.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
