Prime Minister Refuses to Make Controversial Bill Reportable
During today’s government meeting, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mesrop Arakelyan proposed to grant approval to the draft law on amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Armenia on accounting in public sector organizations and to make it urgent and reportable. “There are certain comments and questions,” the minister said.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded that he disagrees with making the issue reportable and emphasized that they will have a working discussion. Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan also expressed that the concern is related to changes in deadlines, which is also a point of concern for the Ministry of Finance.
Pashinyan noted that making the issue reportable is not very appropriate, and they will conduct a working discussion, after which conclusions will be drawn. “It is very difficult for us; you are discussing it, and we don’t understand what you are discussing. We will hold a discussion, and you will come to a conclusion,” the Prime Minister urged the head of his office.
