Which Channels Will Be Available to Watch Throughout Armenia and Which Only in Yerevan

The Broadcasting and Television Commission has published a decision recognizing the winners of the national broadcast competition for the use of slots in the public multiplex.

According to the decision, “ARMENIA TV” LLC, “HUSABER” LLC, “SHANT” LLC, “A-TV” LLC, and “MULTI MEDIA-CENTRAL TV” LLC have been awarded licenses to use slots in the public multiplex across the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

Meanwhile, “ARMNIUZ” LLC, “SHARK” LLC, and “FREE NEWS” LLC passed the qualifying threshold for the public multiplex slot licensing competition but were not recognized as winners due to more highly-ranked participants occupying the available slots.

In the capital city multiplex licensing competition, the winners include “SHARK” LLC, “ARMNIUZ” LLC, “ARPI MEDIA” LLC, “FREE NEWS” LLC, “DAR21 BROADCASTING COMPANY” LLC, and “MO TV MEDIA HOLDING” LLC. These companies will receive licenses for slot usage in the public multiplex within the territory of Yerevan.

It is noteworthy that a total of 12 television companies submitted applications for national broadcasting, of which 3 applied solely for national and 9 for both national and capital broadcasting licenses.

The following are the scores received by television companies in the national competition: “Armenia” TV Company – 713 points, “Yerevan Media” TV Company – 688 points, “Shant” TV Company – 680 points, ATV – 670 points, “Kentron” TV Company – 663 points, “5th Channel” – 657 points, “H2” – 626 points, “Armnoyuz” – 613 points, “A1+” – 545 points, and “Free News” – 531 points. The highest-scoring television companies will fill the national multiplex, while those scoring lower will occupy slots in the capital multiplex, if they applied for that multiplex as well.

The “Armenian Second Channel” applied only for national broadcasting but did not attain the required points. Only 4 television companies have applied for capital broadcasting, with their polling results recorded as follows: “Dar 21” – 492 points, “Mo TV Media Holding” LLC – 463 points, “Arpi Media” LLC – 542 points, and “Shant Sport” LLC – 216 points.
