The Number of Stacked Trucks on the Russian Side of the Stepantsminda-Lars Road has Reached 450

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed roads within the territory of the Republic of Armenia. In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from the "Amberd" high mountain weather station to the Amberd Fortress and to the K'ar lake are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is difficult to navigate for trucks with trailers. There is black ice present in places on the Aparan-Kuchak road in Aragatsotn region.

According to information received from the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia’s North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles due to the risk of avalanches, and there are 450 piled-up trucks on the Russian side.

According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the decision to restrict the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. The ban does not apply to cargo transport.
