Azerbaijan Files Complaint Against Armenia at ECHR

Azerbaijan has submitted a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights regarding violations of the freedoms and rights of its citizens affected by 'Armenian military aggression.' This was reported by TASS. The complaint was filed with the ECHR on January 15.

The document raises issues related to the violations of the 'right to life, personal and family life, freedom of religion, property, and free movement' of Azerbaijani citizens in the 'Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions occupied by Armenia,' as well as cases of 'torture and ill-treatment.'

The complaint also includes 'evidence' that Armenia has taken no steps to investigate the fates of 3,890 Azerbaijani citizens who went missing as a result of the conflict.

Additionally, the complaint contains 'evidence' that during the recent escalation, Armenia launched attacks with cluster and phosphorus munitions and ballistic missiles on villages and towns in Azerbaijan, which are outside of the military operations zone, resulting in the deaths of 93 people, including 12 children, and injuring 423 civilians, with 264 houses completely destroyed.

The document calls for the 'necessary measures to restore the violated rights of citizens.'
