On January 14, Ara Gasparyan, a resident of Haci village, was captured by Azerbaijani soldiers while grazing livestock in one of the village's pastures. He found himself in an area that has come under Azerbaijani control and was taken captive.

According to reports from Artsakh Public Television, after several hours of interrogation, the Azerbaijanis handed Ara over to Russian peacekeepers.
