Powers of Artsakh’s Chief Prosecutor Suspended
The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh, Artur Tovmasyan, issued an official statement on January 15, indicating that, according to Article 62, Part 2, Clause 8 of the Law on Prosecutor's Office, on January 9, the Chief Prosecutor submitted a resignation request to the National Assembly and, in accordance with the established procedure, submitted another request on January 15.
Therefore, based on Article 62, Part 4 of the Law on Prosecutor’s Office, the powers of Chief Prosecutor Mher Aghajanyan have been prematurely terminated as of January 15.
