On January 15, Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan had a phone conversation with Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto. This was reported by the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Ayvazyan provided his Finnish counterpart with comprehensive information regarding the situation following Azerbaijan's unleashed war against Artsakh, the efforts undertaken to maintain the ceasefire, and the stabilization of the situation in the region. In this context, Minister Ayvazyan emphasized the safe and prompt return of prisoners of war, hostages, and other detained persons as a priority for the Armenian side.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Finland highlighted the importance of addressing the issues of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace settlement within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship.

During the phone conversation, matters related to the Armenian-Finnish agenda were discussed. Both sides underscored the necessity of revitalizing political dialogue, including through mutual visits and the activation of political discussions.

The conversation also addressed the Armenia-European Union partnership and the cooperation between Armenia and Finland within that framework.
