Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan Receives U.S. Ambassador Lynn Tracy

Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan has welcomed the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia, Lynn Tracy. This information was reported on the government’s website.

Also present at the meeting was David Hoffman, Director of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) mission in Armenia.

In greeting the ambassador, the deputy prime minister expressed gratitude to the U.S. government for providing humanitarian assistance to Armenia, also highlighting the support aimed at mitigating the socio-economic impacts of the coronavirus.

During the meeting, Mher Grigoryan presented to the ambassador the situation in Artsakh resulting from the war unleashed by Azerbaijan in September, as well as the government-approved support programs for Artsakh, their content, and progress.

U.S. Ambassador Lynn Tracy informed the deputy prime minister of the American side’s readiness to continue providing support for both short-term projects and the implementation of long-term strategic reforms. Within this framework, both sides emphasized the importance of reforms in the justice sector.

During the meeting, the director of the USAID mission in Armenia presented the projects carried out by the organization.

The interlocutors also discussed the development of Armenian-American bilateral relations, highlighting the significance of the Strategic Dialogue platform.
