COVID-19 Outbreak Identified in Noragugh and Hovsepayn Communities of Askeran Region
As of January 15, testing results have revealed a COVID-19 outbreak in the Noragugh and Hovsepayn communities of the Askeran region. In recent days, 261 tests were conducted, with 143 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus reported among residents of these communities.
Partial quarantine has been implemented in the affected areas, with entry and exit restrictions in place. Specialists from the State Non-Commercial Organization for Epidemiology and Hygiene of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh have conducted disinfecting operations in the identified outbreak locations, including educational institutions, and have carried out sample collection for testing from individuals who came in contact with confirmed cases.
Overall, a total of 2,174 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Artsakh, with 31 fatalities reported. Currently, 36 individuals are receiving inpatient treatment for the virus, and a total of 18,184 tests have been conducted.
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh once again urges the public to follow the guidelines of specialists to avoid new outbreaks and to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic as soon as possible.
