Azerbaijani Authorities Are Doing Everything to Keep Legal Courts Away from the Issue of Prisoners: Armenian Ombudsman

Azerbaijan is politicizing the issue of prisoners, Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan told reporters.

"It is obvious that Azerbaijani authorities are doing everything to distance legal courts from this matter," he said.

According to Arman Tatoyan, Armenia must not allow this. The issue has no political significance.

He stated that we should not allow Azerbaijan to link the issue of prisoners to any point of the trilateral declaration.

"This is a process of human rights protection, which is the main focus, and it must be ensured, period. They are initiating criminal cases against our prisoners of war, which is a gross violation of international humanitarian law," said the Armenian Ombudsman.
