I Am Ready to Collaborate with Individuals Willing to Provide Information
Ani Samsonyan, a member of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction in the National Assembly, wrote on her Facebook page: 'Dear citizens and colleagues, back in 2020, the 'Prosperous Armenia' and 'Enlightened Armenia' factions of the National Assembly initiated a project to study the government's actions aimed at combating the pandemic. Last year, the process was not continued due to the war that befell us. The consequences of the war have left us facing numerous challenges, which deserve separate analysis and examination, for which we have proposed the creation of an investigative committee.
At the same time, remaining consistent in our efforts to implement our initiatives, we are also obligated to study the aspects of preventing and treating the coronavirus to act more effectively in protecting the health of the population in the future. Accordingly, I inform you that on January 12 of this year, on the order of the Speaker of the National Assembly, the composition of the legal commission has been established to examine the effectiveness of the measures taken by the government and the commandant’s office aimed at preventing the spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), combating this virus, and mitigating or eliminating the consequences of the pandemic, as well as the effectiveness and legality of the restrictions on human rights and fundamental freedoms during the state of emergency.
The committee will be led by Arkadi Khachatryan, a member of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction, while I will be the second member from our political force. I am ready to cooperate with all individuals who are willing to assist us with information and their professional and expert capabilities. I believe you know how to contact me.'
