Stepanakert Informs Russian Peacekeepers About Ceasefire Violation

On January 13, at around 12:00 PM, Azerbaijan has grossly violated the ceasefire maintenance regime. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Vahram Poghosyan, in an interview with 24News.

“We have informed the leadership of the peacekeeping forces to prevent such incidents in the future. What happened today once again speaks not only of the destructive attitude of the Azerbaijani military-political leadership but also of the incompatibility of living side by side with the people of Artsakh,” the spokesperson noted.

According to him, the incident is yet another important signal that the issue of Artsakh’s status needs to be resolved swiftly, and such cases should be investigated more rigorously.

“I hope that the leadership of the peacekeeping forces will not overlook what happened and that a proper investigation will be conducted,” Poghosyan said.

It is noted that as a result of the gross violation of the ceasefire regime by the adversary, a soldier, Vardan Vachagani Kirakosyan, born in 2000, sustained a gunshot wound. The wounded soldier was immediately transferred to a military hospital and successfully operated on. His condition is assessed as seriously stable.
