Russian Foreign Ministry Accuses Armenia of Derailing Negotiations

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's article titled 'The Origins of the 44-Day War' by directly accusing him of spreading false information regarding the conditions for the resolution of the conflict.

According to constitutional expert Gohar Meloyan, who shared this on his Facebook page, the knowledge of the Russian language is sufficient to understand the numerous favorable conditions proposed by Russia for the resolution of the conflict for both the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh prior to April 2018. These included international guarantees for the exercise of the right to self-determination of the people of Artsakh and direct participation of the Republic of Artsakh in meetings convened within the framework of the OSCE.

Furthermore, it is explicitly stated that these conditions for resolution were rejected by official Yerevan in 2018, directly blaming Armenia for derailing the negotiations and leaving no alternative to war.

The response from the Russian Foreign Ministry is yet another proof of what happens when irresponsible dilettantes take over government management after professionals, Meloyan wrote.

It is noteworthy that Igor Popov, the Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, also made a statement regarding Pashinyan's article, particularly noting that Russia has never suggested to Azerbaijan to relinquish the 7 regions while forgetting about the status of Artsakh.
