Russian Forces Move to Northern Syria to Deter Turkish-backed Operations

Russian military forces have moved towards the city of Ain Issa in the northern Raqqa province of Syria, where tensions have recently increased, according to the almasdarnews.com news agency. Local sources indicate that Russian military police units have set out from Aleppo, bringing with them armored vehicles and personnel.

The source added that the Russian military police have been deployed to bolster their presence in the area and to facilitate negotiations between the conflicting parties. The news agency recalls that in recent months, groups supported by Turkey have intensified their assaults towards the Syrian Democratic Forces, prompting the latter to strengthen their presence in northern Raqqa province.

Several residents have left the area to avoid gunfire and missile attacks from Turkish forces and their allies.
