Opening Roads on Favorable Terms: Mekhak Apresyan on Transport Unblocking
The regional transport unblocking is crucial for Armenia's economy, particularly for tourism. In a press conference held at the Armenpress press hall, Mekhak Apresyan, the president of the Armenian Tourism Federation, noted that the main issue in the tourism sector in Armenia has been transport accessibility.
“Two of Armenia's four neighbors, which lacks a sea, have closed borders, and we face serious transport accessibility challenges. With transport unblocking, we will be able to connect with the world through all land routes, which is important for both tourism and the economy. One thing to remember is that we should open roads and unblock access, but on terms that are favorable to us. At the same time, we need to develop and implement a legislative toolkit quickly, so that we can benefit from this unblocking,” said Mekhak Apresyan.
