Items Discovered in a Concealed Compartment of a Cell Wall at Armavir Penitentiary
Continuing measures against the illegal circulation of prohibited items in penitentiary institutions, on January 12, at around 10:45 AM, officials from the Armavir penitentiary of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia conducted an unscheduled search in one of the cells designated for detained persons, acting on operational data.
As a result of the search, from a concealed compartment measuring 15x15x7 cm carved into the wall at the back of a wardrobe, officials discovered a large quantity of a greenish substance resembling marijuana, weighing 14.31 grams, as well as 5 mobile phones, 1 Wi-Fi device, 2 headphones, and 5 chargers for mobile phones. This information was reported by the Public Relations Department of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.
Materials are being prepared regarding the incident, and a forensic examination has been ordered. The Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice remains committed to the principles, characteristics, and methodologies of its operations, all aimed at enhancing the efficiency and priority demands of the system.
