In 2020, over $2.6 million in bonuses were given to the investigators of the Special Investigation Service

Controversial bonuses in the state system continue. In December alone, employees of the RA Special Investigation Service were allocated bonuses amounting to approximately $250,000. Overall, a total of $2,663,320 was allocated as bonuses to the employees of the RA Special Investigation Service in 2020, as reported by «Factinfo».

In response to a written inquiry from «Factinfo», the Special Investigation Service reported that in December, bonuses totaling 1,312,79,900 drams were allocated to the employees of the RA Special Investigation Service, including taxes. Bonuses were also granted to the head of the RA Special Investigation Service, his deputies, and the heads of regional subdivisions; however, the exact amounts were not detailed by the Service, directing inquiries to the annual report declarations submitted by officials.

In total, in 2020, the employees of the RA Special Investigation Service received bonuses amounting to 1,350,819,400 drams (including taxes) under the economic classification article “Bonuses, financial incentives, and special payments” from the state budget, and 47,423,800 drams under the article “Remuneration of civil, judicial, and state employees.” This means that bonuses allocated to the employees of the Special Investigation Service in 2020 amounted to approximately $2,663,320.
