Democratic Lawmakers Report That Armed Supporters of Trump Plan to Block the Capitol Again

Thousands of armed supporters of current President Donald Trump are preparing to besiege the Capitol building in anticipation of the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden, according to CNN, citing a well-informed member of Congress.

According to the network, several lawmakers also warned of the impending threat of riots recently. “They are talking about around 4,000 armed 'patriots' who intend to block the Capitol to prevent Democrats from entering. They have published a list of rules, detailing when to shoot and when not to. This is an organized group with a plan,” said Democratic Representative Conor Lamb in an interview with the network.

Discussions regarding Trump’s impeachment are ongoing in the House of Representatives today. It is worth noting that Democrats recently introduced an impeachment resolution for consideration in the lower chamber of Congress, which could be brought to a vote after discussions.
