19 Babies Born at Artsakh's Mother and Child Health Center from December 31 to January 7
The healthcare system of the Republic of Artsakh operated under an enhanced regime during the New Year non-working days. Based on the corresponding order of the Minister of Health of Artsakh, a duty schedule was created for medical institutions, and oversight was strengthened for patients receiving treatment in hospital settings. Additionally, the transfer of other patients needing city medical care was organized.
During these days, the Ministry of Health of Artsakh established epidemiological monitoring and laboratory control for acute respiratory infections (ARI) and COVID-19.
During the festive days, 314 emergency medical calls were made across the Republic, with 248 coming from the Stepanakert emergency medical station and 66 from the surrounding areas. The outpatient visits to the preventive healthcare institutions of Artsakh amounted to 334 cases, of which 224 were under the age of 18. A total of 31 individuals were admitted to the hospital wards, including 16 under the age of 18.
According to information received from the Republican Medical Center of Artsakh's Ministry of Health, the outpatient-polyclinic department received 46 patients, and the urgent care department attended to 276 citizens, with 120 being admitted to hospital wards. A total of 17 urgent surgeries were performed.
At the Mother and Child Health Center, 9 surgeries were conducted, including 8 cesarean sections and 1 urgent gynecological intervention. One surgery was performed at the “Arevik” medical unit.
From December 31 to January 7, 19 babies were born at the Mother and Child Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Artsakh, of which 10 were female and 9 were male.
