Turkey Plans to Establish Air Bases in Three Azerbaijani Cities: Turkish Media
Turkey is planning to establish air bases in three Azerbaijani cities: Ganja, Lankaran, and Gabala. This was reported by Turkish media.
It is noted that Turkish military bases could be deployed in Azerbaijan, similar to those in Syria, Qatar, Iraq, Sudan, and Northern Cyprus. “Turkey intends to deploy at least three military air bases in Azerbaijani territory, thus significantly strengthening its presence in the region and directly near Russian borders. Turkish military air bases will emerge in Ganja, Lankaran, and Gabala, with discussions including the deployment of both unmanned aerial vehicles and fighter aircraft in Azerbaijan,” reports Azerbaijani outlet haqqin.az.
Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced during a meeting with Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar that Turkish companies have started infrastructure projects in Nagorno-Karabakh. He noted that restoration works have already begun and the first contracts have been signed.
