13 Days Later, the Defense Army Still Unable to Rectify Errors in Published and Then Removed List of 147 Casualties

The Artsakh Defense Army has not published the list of fallen servicemen that was made public on December 26 and later removed from the website, citing inaccuracies.

NEWS.am attempted to clarify with the spokesperson of the Defense Army, Lieutenant Colonel Suren Sarumyan, why the list has yet to be released and why the names of the fallen servicemen have not been disclosed at all.

"The list will be published as soon as it is finalized, because preparing the list requires considerable and meticulous work. You see the kind of uproar that arises over one unverified piece of data. It takes time, there is no other reason," Sarumyan responded.

The Defense Army had last published a list of fallen servicemen on December 26, which included 147 names; however, this list was soon removed from the website as part of the process to eliminate inaccuracies.

Prior to this, a list was published on December 25, presenting the names of 45 servicemen who sacrificed their lives in battles for the homeland. According to the last official data published by the Artsakh Defense Army, the number of casualties on the Armenian side is 1,870.
