FAF Supports HFF President Amid Confidence Vote at Upcoming Meeting

Today, the 20th meeting of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) is set to take place. The First Armenian Front fan movement, known as FAF, has issued a statement indicating that there are plans by one of the clubs participating in the Armenia First League to express a vote of no confidence against HFF President Armen Melikbekyan.

“Considering the recent notable progress in Armenian football, the national team has finally been entrusted to an experienced coach, and the performances of the national football and futsal teams during the challenging times of the coronavirus and wartime have provided unique moments of joy for the Armenian people, we find this initiative absurd and express our support for the current HFF president Armen Melikbekyan, willing to thwart any attempts that could lead Armenian football towards instability and recklessness,” the FAF statement reads.

“We would like to emphasize once again: narrow personal interests and ambitions must have no place in Armenian football, and the future of our football should be determined by its true stakeholders,” it adds.
