Video: Armen Sarkissian at Yerablur

The President of the Republic, Armen Sarkissian, visited the "Yerablur" military pantheon today. The President and the staff of the presidential office paid tribute to the memory of the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the defense of the Homeland during the Artsakh liberation struggle, laying flowers at their graves.

President Sarkissian also laid flowers at the graves of the National Hero of Armenia, Artsakh Hero, and the first Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Vazgen Sargsyan, as well as at the graves of National Hero Monte Melkonyan and General Andranik.

On behalf of the President, a wreath was laid at the memorial wall commemorating the heroes who fell for the freedom and independence of the Homeland, followed by a moment of silence to honor the immortal memory of the devoted fighters who perished for their country.

In his remarks, President Sarkissian particularly noted, "These are very difficult days. I hope that with the end of 2020, we will close the tragic and unfortunate page and be able to stand up and open a new chapter. The only thing we will remember from 2020 is the sacred memory of those who gave their lives to defend the Homeland. All misfortunes should be lessons, not painful memories. We must start our lives anew. I am eagerly looking forward to the end of this year."
