Parents of Captured Soldiers from Hin Tagher and Khtsaberd Will Meet with the Minister of Defense
The Minister of Defense of Armenia, Vagharshak Harutyunyan, will meet with the families of soldiers who are trapped in the Hin Tagher and Khtsaberd areas of Artsakh and have lost contact with their loved ones since the evening of December 15.
The meeting is scheduled for December 21. As reported by Armenpress, this information was shared by MP Karen Sarukhanyan during a meeting with the families held on the evening of December 19 at the Shirak regional administration.
Sarukhanyan indicated that the minister is willing to meet with 5-6 of the relatives, but the families rejected such a small-group meeting. Shirak governor Tigran Petrosyan stated that he would try to discuss the details of the meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.
During the meeting, the parents expressed their dissatisfaction with the work of the relevant authorities, noting that contact with their loved ones was lost on December 15, yet they are still unaware of their children's status. “Even until now, no one has provided us with exact information about whether these 62 children are in captivity or simply trapped. They are looking at us through their fingers,” the relatives said.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Artsakh announced that on the evening of December 15, under unknown circumstances, contact was lost with the personnel of several combat positions located in the direction of Hin Tagher and Khtsaberd in Hadrut. Artsakh President Araik Harutyunyan has stated that several dozen soldiers have been captured in the Khtsaberd direction.
