Six Injured on Armenian Side Following Resumed Hostilities; Vagharshak Harutyunyan Discusses Hin Tagher and Khzraberd with Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu

On December 12, Azerbaijani armed forces, having amassed additional personnel and military equipment, including heavy artillery, grossly violated the terms of the tripartite statement signed on November 9 and launched an attack in the direction of the villages of Hin Tagher and Khzraberd in the Hadrut region of the Republic of Artsakh.

Following several hours of fighting, the adversary managed to enter the village of Hin Tagher and approach the village of Khzraberd. As a result of the Azerbaijani provocation and the resumed hostilities, the Armenian side has reported six injuries, while the opponent has suffered casualties and injuries.

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia strongly condemns the provocations carried out by the Azerbaijani armed forces. The situation created has no relation to the key requirement of the statement signed by the presidents of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan, concerning the cessation of hostilities, and threatens the fragile peace achieved through the direct efforts of the President of Russia.

The actions of the Azerbaijani side have become an immediate subject of discussion with the leadership of the Russian peacekeeping contingent deployed in Artsakh.

Vagharshak Harutyunyan, the Minister of Defense of Armenia, who is on a working visit to the Russian Federation, also discussed this issue during his meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.

It is noteworthy that negotiations between Armenian, Russian, and Azerbaijani military officials have been ongoing in the Hadrut region, both late yesterday evening and at this moment, aimed at resolving the created situation and returning the parties to their previous positions.
