VIDEO: Protest Held in Front of Turkish Consulate in Iran
Residents of Tabriz, Iran, have gathered in front of the Turkish consulate to hold a protest. People are chanting anti-Turkish slogans.
It is worth mentioning that Hossein Amir Abdollahian, special assistant to the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament on international affairs, advised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to study history well, according to the IRNA agency.
“Erdogan’s recent remarks have astonished me. It is interesting whether the Turkish President knows what he is talking about. Mr. President, there is a difference between expectations of neighborhood and expansionism,” Abdollahian wrote on his Twitter page.
He also urged Erdogan to read history before making statements. “Please read carefully the history of Iran and particularly the Islamic Republic,” he added.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh reported that the Turkish ambassador in Tehran was summoned to the Foreign Ministry due to remarks made by President Erdogan. “The Turkish ambassador was informed that the era of territorial ambitions and militaristic imperial expansion has long been over,” he stated.
Khatibzadeh emphasized that “Iran will not allow anyone to violate its territorial integrity.”
