Director of 'Amad News' Portal Executed in Iran

The director of the 'Amad News' portal, Rouhollah Zam, has been executed in Iran, as reported by Mehr News. The execution took place on Saturday morning by hanging.

This week, it was revealed that Iranian authorities had confirmed the death penalty for the head of 'Amad News', who had received support from foreign intelligence services.

In mid-October 2019, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced Zam's arrest. According to open sources, Zam actively covered the protests across Iran from December 2017 to January 2018. As noted by the IRNA agency, the portal's director was detained for 'anti-revolutionary activities.'
