Canvas Worth $330,000 Discovered in German Airport Trash
Authorities in Düsseldorf, Germany, have uncovered a canvas valued at over $330,000 in one of the airport's trash bins, as reported by Deutsche Welle.
The artwork is by French painter Yves Tangy (1900-1955), who became renowned for his abstract and surrealistic landscapes.
The disappearance of the canvas was reported on November 27. It was noted that it had been packed and placed in a cardboard box, which the owner accidentally left at the airport's check-in desk. The owner realized the artwork was missing while on a flight to Tel Aviv.
Upon arriving in Israel, the man contacted the airport authorities. After several successful search attempts, he reached out to a friend living in Belgium, who traveled to Düsseldorf and filed a report with the police. This action led to a positive outcome, as the police quickly located the canvas and returned it to its rightful owner.
