Relatives of Missing Soldiers Break Windows at Ejmiadzin Military Base, Promised Meeting with Senior Defense Officials

Relatives of soldiers conscripted from Ejmiadzin and considered missing have not received any news from their sons for over 50 days. They insist that during this time, they have not received any concrete information from the relevant authorities. Today, the relatives staged a protest near one of the military bases in Ejmiadzin. Their demand is clear: to conduct search operations in the areas where their sons were conscripted.

In the afternoon, a dispute broke out between the protesters and the battalion commander. The parents also broke windows. To halt the blockade of the headquarters, the mother of a missing soldier, Anahit Adoian, was invited inside. After approximately an hour of negotiations with Ashot Zakharyan, the head of the Military Police, she announced that they would cease drastic actions but would not leave.

Late in the evening, in a phone conversation with “Horizon,” Anahit Adoian reported that the protest in the military base area had ended today, and according to the promise from a representative of the police, they would wait for a meeting with senior Defense Ministry officials, including Chief of Staff Onik Gasparyan.
