51 Out of 112 Units of Equipment to Be Used for Snow Removal, Says Mayor

51 out of 112 units of equipment will be used for snow removal, the mayor announced during a visit to the Yerevan Municipality's "Yerevan Waste Collection and Sanitary Cleaning" community establishment. The special equipment designated for snow removal is currently waiting for its time.

All multifunctional vehicles have been transformed from water trucks into salt spreaders. The community structure, established in the summer of 2019, now possesses 112 units of special equipment, 51 of which are also used for snow removal tasks. Currently, 5000 cubic meters of salt and sand have been stockpiled, with an additional 900 cubic meters on the way.

Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan has reviewed the ongoing work: "I find it very important that the city of Yerevan has its own establishment dealing with waste collection, sanitation, and in winter, snow removal. It is crucial that this is the property of Yerevan, the community's asset, because various situations arise where urgent solutions are needed, including during nighttime hours, and often the private sector operates at its convenience. Therefore, not only in Yerevan but in almost all European cities and advanced cities, this model has been adopted long ago, where the city has its own establishments and property to manage effectively and respond quickly to all challenges. I am proud that we could establish such a powerful organization in a very short time, "the mayor emphasized.

The technical reinforcement of the community structure is ongoing. Recently, three new multifunctional loaders have been acquired, which are particularly suitable for cleaning sidewalks.

"This process will continue. We need to increase our equipment so that we can solve all issues at 100% or even 120% of our capability," noted the mayor.

To make the operations of the community establishment more efficient, a program has been created to monitor the location of vehicles, the amount of fuel consumed, and the volume of collected waste.

"I want to express my satisfaction with the work of the establishment. Of course, the primary assessment should come from the residents of Yerevan; I hope they are also satisfied. I also want to say that we will maintain our standards and continuously improve them. So, moving forward," stated Hayk Marutyan.
