Tbilisi Markets Flooded with Sevan Carp: What is the Consequence?
WRed
The Armenian newspaper 'Zhamanak' reports: 'Our Georgian sources inform us that the markets in Tbilisi are flooded with Sevan carp, which is being sold at a very affordable price. A kilogram of cleaned carp costs 10 lari or about 1600 drams. This price is so low that Georgians prefer carp over much more expensive fish from their rivers or the sea. This is a consequence of the inactivity or active participation of the Armenian Ministry of Environment in this matter.'
