Where Did the Excellent Relations Between Prime Minister Pashinyan and Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau Disappear? Marukyan
Edmon Marukyan, leader of the Bright Armenia party, has made a post on his Facebook page addressing the consideration of a draft resolution recognizing the independence of Artsakh in the Canadian Senate.
“The author of the draft resolution on recognizing the independence of Artsakh, Canadian senator Leo Housakos, announced on his Twitter page that the Canadian Senate has rejected the resolution. He called this day a sad day for the Armenian people. The senator also criticized the ruling party of Canada and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for turning their backs on the Armenians and once again siding with the aggressor.
We are grateful to Senator Housakos for his willingness to fight for justice alongside the Armenian people. However, we are curious about where the excellent relations between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have gone, and why they were unable to contribute to addressing issues that are important for the Armenian people,” he said.
It is noteworthy that the Canadian Parliament rejected a resolution on December 8 condemning the Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression against Armenia and Artsakh, imposing an arms embargo on Turkey, recognizing the inviolable right of Artsakh to self-determination, and recognizing the independence of the Republic of Artsakh.
