Video: Over 100 Individuals Detained by Police for Violations on December 8

On December 8, acts of disobedience and protest occurred throughout the country. The Police of the Republic of Armenia reported that despite their calls and appeals, streets were also blocked.

“Throughout the event, the police maintained public order. In some cases, when the rights of other citizens were violated, police officers urged the participants to cease their actions. Unfortunately, there were also incidents of interpersonal conflicts during the movement restrictions. In this case, too, the police took preventive measures.

During this time, more than 100 individuals were brought to the territorial divisions of the police from various settlements in the republic for committing violations, and administrative violation reports were prepared against them. To prevent obstruction of traffic, 4 vehicles were moved to a special area maintained by the Road Police.

Dear citizens, the police again urge you to adhere to the rules of law and coexistence. We encourage you to exercise your subjective fundamental rights strictly within the framework of the law, not to abuse them, and to respect the rights of your fellow citizens,” the Police of the Republic of Armenia stated.
