Ararat Governor Garik Sargsyan wrote on his Facebook page: "Dear compatriots, dear Ararat residents,

Today I submitted my resignation to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. I have served as the Governor of Ararat for 2.5 years. Immediately after starting my work, I dedicated myself to developing the region and improving the living standards of our residents. The time, of course, was not sufficient to implement all the programs we envisioned, but during this period, a considerable amount of work was done that had not been carried out for many years before the revolution. At the same time, I assure you that the maximum possible was done with the resources available during these 2.5 years. I will present a detailed report on the work done in the near future.

During these difficult days for our country, although I am resigning from the governor's position, I will continue my activities within the "Civil Contract" party. I will also continue to monitor all processes occurring in my region and contribute to the further development of the region to the best of my abilities.

I would like to thank Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for his trust and my colleagues at the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure for our collaborative work. I also extend my gratitude to the heads of the communities in the Ararat region and the employees of the Ararat Governorate for our cooperation. Let us remain in peace, united, and together overcome the challenges our country faces."
