President Hosts Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy
President Armen Sarkissian has received a delegation led by Manlio Di Stefano, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy. Appreciating the visit of the Italian delegation during these challenging times for Armenia, President Sarkissian emphasized that Armenia always values the support of its friends.
The Italian Deputy Minister highlighted that the partnership and friendship between the two countries are ongoing and stressed the importance of more active cooperation and new platforms for collaboration.
President Sarkissian addressed the Turkish-Azerbaijani military aggression against Artsakh and its consequences. The interlocutors exchanged thoughts on the situation in Armenia and Artsakh after the war, particularly regarding the preservation of Armenian spiritual, historical, and cultural heritage, as well as various humanitarian issues. The Italian side expressed its readiness to actively engage in the preservation of cultural heritage.
President Sarkissian and the Italian Deputy Minister also discussed the bilateral agenda, emphasizing the scheduled state visit of President Armen Sarkissian to Italy, which has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The deepening and expansion of Armenian-Italian cooperation in various sectors were underscored.
