Estonia Has a New Ambassador in Armenia
The newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Estonia to Armenia, Riina Kalyurand, has presented her credentials to President Armen Sarkissian. During the meeting, President Sarkissian congratulated the ambassador on her diplomatic service in the country, wishing her success and expressing confidence that she will utilize her experience to enhance and strengthen friendly relations.
The President noted that Armenia and Estonia, while being small countries, share many similarities. He emphasized the significant potential for cooperation, particularly in the fields of information technology, artificial intelligence, scientific and technical collaboration, education, and several other sectors.
Ambassador Kalyurand conveyed warm greetings and support from Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid to Armenia during this challenging period. The newly appointed ambassador mentioned that she sees vast developmental opportunities for cooperation between the two countries and is eager to contribute to this effort.
She highlighted Estonia's achievements, particularly in the realm of e-governance and work with the diaspora, which could be of interest to Armenia. The discussions also touched upon the situation in Armenia resulting from the war, as well as exchanging thoughts on the prospects for Armenia-EU cooperation.
