MP Claims Anni Samsonyan Equated Her to Controversial Human Rights Committee Head for Labeling Her as 'Pro-Turkish'

Maria Karapetyan, an MP from the 'My Step' faction, wrote on her Facebook page, "National Assembly member Anni Samsonyan has decided to 'punish' me for supporting the decision to hold discussions on captives in a closed session. She is 'punishing' me through slander, alleging that I claimed during the closed session that Azerbaijan treats our captives well, which is, of course, a lie. This slander perhaps reaffirms my position stated this morning that the 'Bright Armenia' faction views this issue as a matter of obtaining political dividends, and Ms. Samsonyan calling me 'pro-Turkish' has equated her to the infamous head of the Human Rights Committee and is now rapidly striving to compete with certain extra-parliamentary groups. Let’s wish her a good journey."

It should be noted that Anni Samsonyan had told reporters that Maria Karapetyan stated during her speech that Armenian captives are treated well in Azerbaijan.
